In 1996 Zytek Engineering Ltd was awarded the contract to supply engines to the "one-make" International F3000 championship. The agreement has since been extended twice, so the engines will be used at least to the end of the 2004 season. Zytek's involvement in F3000 stretches back to 1989, previously supplying Cosworth V8 and Mugen engines before the KV was introduced in 1992. The KV F3000 has also been used in Euro 3000 (2001-present), Italian F3000 (1999-2000) and British F3000 (1997).
