FC Euro Series

Guy Smith tests the Reynard, Nov 2000

The FC [Formula Chrysler] Euro Series had its inaugural season in 2001, although a lack of entries meant the calendar had to be significantly amended. After Ricardo van der Ende won the first title, interest was not sufficient for 2002 and the series was cancelled. The aim of the series (originally the International Single Seater Challenge, or ISSC) was to provide the chance for drivers to bridge the gap between national formulae, such as Scholarship F3, and Formula 3000. The specially built Reynard 2KF carbon fibre composite chassis was coupled with a production-based 3.5 litre Chrysler V6 engine, producing around 310bhp.
