Also linked to championship: Damien Faulkner (IRL); Darren Turner (GB); Geoffrey Dellus (F); Santiago Porteiro (E) - linked to Venturini Racing (in both Dallara Nissan V6 and F.Nissan 2000 squads), but team not entering Dallara V6; Manuel Giao (P), Giuseppe Burlotti (I)? - all linked to Vergani; Esteban Tuero (RA). Kristian Kolby (DK) Kari Mäenpää (SF) / Miku Santavirta (SF) - both tested for Zele. Marc Hynes (GB) - tested for GD Racing.

Previously linked to championship, now ruled out: Stephane Sarrazin (F) - reportedly signed for Gabord Competicion, but was later signed as Toyota test driver, ruling out competing in a Nissan-backed series; Carlos Pereira (BR) - signed for RC Motorsport, but opted to race in their Formula Renault squad; Jonathan Cochet (F) - linked to Venturini, but will race in Formula Nippon; Frank Diefenbacher (D) - linked to possible BSR entry, but sponsors chose for him and team to stay in German F3; Tomas Scheckter (ZA)? - linked to Vergani, but entering IRL; Milos Pavlovic (YUG)? - strongly linked to RC Motorsport drive & linked to Vergani, but entering Italian F3; David Saelens (B)? - tipped to sign for KTR but racing in F3000; Darren Manning (GB) - racing in ASCAR. Dominik Schwager (D) - tipped to sign for Zele but racing in F.Nippon; Andrea Piccini (I) - tipped to sign for Zele.

Notes:

Jordi Gené (E) is the Gabord Competicion test driver.

Other teams linked to the series include: DAMS; a British team; Other teams previously linked to series entry included: Venturini Racing - lodged an entry but decided to concentrate on Formula Nissan 2000; Bertram Schäfer Racing (BSR) - considered entering with Frank Diefenbacher (D), but his sponsors blocked the move in favour of more German F3. Grids were originally limited to 20 cars, but it was possible that Dallara could have built two more to allow 22 cars.

Any help with the entries for 2002 would be much appreciated - please e-mail with all the details you have.
