~ how to use money wisely!
"The Ten Commandments" of Spending:
1. Always operate from a "Spending Plan" (budget).
2. Always tithe on your income and pay yourself first--before you pay your bills.
(10% of your gross income in each area)
3. Never spend what you do not have.
4. Do not use borrowed money to buy items that are consumable or that will lose value.
5. Never co-sign a loan for someone else, or you will be obligated to pay off the loan.
6. Always shop from a list.
7. Never buy anything with your emotions; always buy with facts that you can prove.
8. Never let someone else dictate how you must spend your money.
9. Never shop for food on an empty stomach.
10. Always separate your needs from your wants, and learn to say "NO" to yourself.

Employment Assistance Program
New Life Development can help you find the right permanent,
full-time job for you!
Our Employment Assistance Program offers you a personal,
individualized, job search and placement service.
The qualifications, proficiencies, and work preferences of clients in our Employment Assistance Program are matched with available positions to create and establish profitable careers for life.
Our directors, counselors, and Human Development Curriculum (HDC) teachers write character references on behalf of the clients to verify achievements that are consistently demonstrated in their attitudes, efforts,
and work habits and practices.
The staff maintains contact with employed clients and their supervisors in order to promote a successful, permanent transitioninto the labor force and to enhance job satisfaction on a long-continuing basis.
Eligibility Requirements
Persons who wish to participate in our free Employment Assistance Program (E.A.P.) must be at least 18 years of age.
These clients must want more than just a "pay day" or even money to pay their bills. They must really want to work!
Companies are not willing to invest their time, expense, and personnel's energy to train a new employee if that individual
only intends to resign after a short period.
A client must prove to the business for which he / she is interested in working that it needs him / her and also that he / she will become a greater asset to its productivity than any other job applicant on file.
The potential employee should consider an employer's perspective, as well as his / her reasons for and concerns about hiring, when preparing for the initial interview and during all follow-up communications.
Enrollment Procedure
The Interview Process:
NLD staff members talk individually with prospective clients and assist them in completing written intake applications.
Facts about their personal history and economic status are documented.
Their employment experience, educational accomplishments, skills, and interests are recorded in specific detail.
A Job Placement Questionnaire is given that requests information regarding past, present, and desired future positions.
Download Job Placement Questionnaire
HDC Registration:
All E.A.P. clients are required to attend and pass the HDC courses in Self-Esteem Building, Self-Control, Substance Abuse and Addiction, Financial Budgeting, Marriage and Family Relationships, and Nutrition prior to their job placement.
Clients may be sent out on job interviews after the third or fourth week of classes.
